Derek worked for the summer in Jackson, Wyoming. He worked along with two friends at Teton Mountaineering.  They spent most of their spare time kayaking and climbing.  We managed to get up to visit once and these are some of the photos. For family pictures of this trip click here.

One of Derek's interests is music.  He plays guitar and banjo.

Derek served as  a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He was in the Texas Houston Mission for 2 years from September 1999 through October 2001.
