Page, ArizonaSouthwest Workshop 2003
Second Wave - The Swirl
In September 2003 I went on another workshop with Steve Kossack. This time to the Page, Arizona area. If you get the idea that I enjoy Steve's workshops then you are right. It takes me about 6 hours to drive to Page. Since driving to the airport and flying to Phoenix takes about the same length of time, I just drove. (Not to mention the 5 hour drive from Phoenix to Page.) I got there a bit before sunset and before the group arrived. I tried to find a spot to shoot sunset, but guessed wrong and ended up without any good images that night. That's the advantage of going with Steve. He puts you in the right spot at the right time. The trip was fantastic. I got more good images on this trip than any of my previous ones. We had a great group that got along well. I'll post links to their images of the trip as they become available. This was also my first big trip with the Canon EOS 1Ds. It performed flawlessly. It was also my first trip without film. I carried the Canon EOS 10D as a backup camera. It never made it out of the bag. For Steve Kossack's images of the trip check here. For Tim Bloomquist's images of the trip check here. If you are interested in joining a workshop with Steve, email me and I'll pass along the necessary information. For all my images of this trip including ones not in this gallery check my Image Catalog under Page, Arizona 03.
