These areas are in Southern Utah.  The first is a formation called the Toadstool.  It is just off Highway 89 on the way to Kanab.  The second is an area of white sandstone and shale that is extremely fragile.  It needs to be protected to prevent damage.

This formation reminds me of a gorilla or maybe the "Lion King".  I call it "King of the Apes".

There was a small dune at the base of some nearby cliffs.  I liked the silhouette of these dried yucca pods.

This is the Toadstool just before sunset.  I have other shots that show the toadstool much larger, but I think the foreground plants and rocks provide more interest.

These white sandstone columns are what is left after the rains have worn away all except that which is protected by the harder stone on top.

This area is very fragile.  There is almost no color except the yellow rock in the foreground. It almost looks like liquid stone flowing down the hill.
